Phoenix, Arizona - Governor Doug Ducey yesterday, joined by Representative Warren Petersen, Arizona legislators, members of the business community and many more, signed H.B. 2569, making Arizona the first state in the country to recognize occupational licenses for new residents. Washington, DC - The annual United States Government estimate of “Afghanistan Poppy Cultivation and Potential Opium Production” found poppy cultivation decreased in 2018 compared to 2017, but remained at a near record high. Poppy cultivation in Afghanistan declined 33 percent, from 329,000 hectares in 2017 to 221,000 hectares in 2018.

Yuma, Arizona - On Friday, at approximately 8:15 pm, a pull station fire alarm was received from the International Paper Company, 2641 East 24th Street. Yuma Fire Department personnel arrived to find heavy smoke coming from a large warehouse building at that location. It was determined that machinery inside the building was on fire, and the fire suppression sprinkler system was keeping the fire contained.
