Accidental Ingestion of Household Chemicals

Yuma, Arizona - Over the last year, there have been regular responses for accidental ingestion of household chemicals. According to the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, approximately 45 percent of unintentional injury deaths occurred in and around the home. Unintentional home injury deaths of children are caused primarily by fire and burns, suffocation, drowning, firearms, falls, choking and poisoning.

Yuma Firefighters Have Returned

Yuma, Arizona - After a two-week deployment to wildfires burning in northern California, the Imperial Valley Task Force was demobilized to return home. They completed the demobilization process Monday afternoon and started back home yesterday morning. As of last night at about 10:30 pm, the Yuma Fire Department personnel have completed the more than 600 mile road trip and arrived safely back to Yuma.

Homicide 100 block of S. 10th Avenue

Yuma, Arizona - On Sunday, at approximately 2:39 a.m., the Yuma Police Department responded to the 100 block of S. 10th Avenue in reference to a 911 call.
