Washington, DC - It’s the height of summer, a time of year when we are most vulnerable to insect-borne diseases. It’s a threat that will still be with us well into the Fall. Dr. Robert R. Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control [CDC], warns that “a growing list of diseases caused by the bite of an infected mosquito, tick, or flea have confronted the U.S. in recent years, making a lot of people sick.”

Yuma, Arizona - On Wednesday, August 1, at approximately 10:26 p.m., Yuma Police Officers checked out with graffiti in the area of 22nd Street and Madison Avenue.  Two male subjects, from across the street, yelled at the officers then started shooting.  Officers returned fire and the suspects fled on foot.  Both suspects were located and taken into custody.
