Arrest Warrant Issued for Unlicensed HVAC Repairman

Tucson, Arizona - Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Arturo Juarez, an unlicensed HVAC repairman from Tucson who defrauded would-be customers out of approximately $85,000.  Juarez previously pleaded guilty to one count each of Theft and Fraudulent Schemes and Artifices, but he failed to appear for sentencing in the Pima County Superior Court scheduled on November 19, 2019.

Former Operator of Assisted Living Facilities Indicted for Fraud and Theft

Tucson, Arizona - Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced a Pima County Grand Jury indicted Jerone Davis for one count of Fraud, and fourteen counts of Theft.  Davis operated several assisted living facilities in Pima County, Arizona, under the name of Rancho Verde Care Homes.

Assisted Living Facility Manager Sentenced after Death of 69-Year-Old Resident

Chandler, Arizona - Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced two managers of a Chandler assisted living facility pleaded guilty to their roles in the death of a 69-year-old resident who spent two days inside the home-based facility without air conditioning.

Phoenix, Arizona - The Justice For Victims of Child Sexual Abuse Task Force submitted its recommendations for further reforms to support victims and help prevent child sexual abuse. Governor Ducey established the task force through an executive order issued at the State Capitol on May 28, 2019 at a ceremony along with survivors of child sexual abuse, victim advocates, and members of the Legislature.

University of Arizona Colleges Of Medicine To Provide Free Tuition For Primary Care Medical Students

Tucson, Arizona - With a portion of $8 million in funding from Arizona’s Fiscal Year 2020 budget, the University of Arizona Colleges of Medicine in Tucson and Phoenix will provide free tuition to students who agree to practice primary care in federally designated medically underserved communities in Arizona for at least two years post-residency. Nearly 100 students – approximately 10 percent of the student body - could receive free tuition at University of Arizona’s two medical schools.
