Attorney General Brnovich Fighting to Hold Robocallers Accountable

Phoenix, Arizona - Attorney General Brnovich announced Tuesday that he is part of a bipartisan coalition of 35 attorneys general seeking to ensure their offices can continue to fight against unwanted and harassing robocalls. Specifically, General Brnovich filed an amicus brief in Lindenbaum v. Realgy, arguing that the Telephone Consumer Protection Act’s (TCPA) robocall ban was enforceable from 2015 to 2020.

Sells Man Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison for Kidnapping, Assault, and Firearms Offenses

Tucson, Arizona - Daniel Escalante, 43, of Tucson, Arizona was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Rosemary Marquez to 15 years in prison. Escalante previously pleaded guilty on August 28, 2019, to one count of kidnapping, three counts of Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, and one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person.

Attorney General Brnovich Announces Passage of Pregnancy Discrimination Protections

Phoenix, Arizona - Attorney General Mark Brnovich, Representative Jeff Weninger, and Senator J.D. Mesnard announced today the passage of legislation that will prohibit pregnancy discrimination in the workplace under the Arizona Civil Rights Act (ACRA). Pregnancy discrimination is illegal in Arizona, but complaints can currently only be investigated by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

Phoenix Fireman Friendship

Phoenix, Arizona - Dan Volcko is a veteran Phoenix, Arizona fireman who came down with the COVID-19 virus and had to be hospitalized. Visitors were not allowed but Volcko’s coworkers were determined to see him and give him a lift, says the Association of Mature American Citizens. And so, they boarded their fire truck, backed up as close as they could to the hospital and climbed their ladder to pay their friend a window visit.
