St. Louis, Missouri - A member of the Aryan Circle (AC) gang pleaded guilty Thursday to committing an assault resulting in serious bodily injury to the victim in aid racketeering announced Assistant Attorney General Brian A. Benczowski of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division and U.S. Attorney Jeffrey B. Jensen of the Eastern District of Missouri.

Nashville, Tennessee - An indictment was unsealed Thursday charging a former intelligence analyst with illegally obtaining classified national defense information and disclosing it to a reporter. Daniel Everette Hale, 31, of Nashville, Tennessee, was arrested and will make his initial appearance at the federal courthouse in Nashville.

Louisville, Kentucky - David M. Schwartz, 48, and Donna K. Gentry, 55, former correctional officers at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections, were indicted by a federal grand jury in Louisville on charges of violating the civil rights of an inmate, writing false reports, and obstructing justice for their roles in the assault of an inmate who was handcuffed and not resisting, and in the attempt to cover up the misconduct afterward by writing false reports and tampering with witnesses. A third officer, Devan Edwards, was charged by information Wednesday with a federal felony offense for his role in the assault.

Washington, DC - Tuesday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a safety communication to inform patients and health care professionals about the potential for the batteries of certain Medtronic implantable pacemakers to drain more quickly than expected and without warning to patients. Implanted pacemakers or cardiac resynchronization therapy pacemakers (CRT-Ps) are battery-powered devices that provide pacing for slow heart rhythms and heart failure.
