Justice Department Sues King County, Washington, and King County Executive for Prohibiting U.S. Immigrations and Custom Enforcement Contractors From Using King County International Airport

Washington, DC - Monday, the Justice Department filed suit against King County, Washington, and King County Executive Dow Constantine challenging King County Executive Order PFC-7-1-EO, which has the purpose and intended effect of prohibiting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) contractors from using King County International Airport, also known as Boeing Field, as a terminal for flights to remove individuals from the United States or transport immigration detainees within the country.

Louisiana Man Pleads Guilty to Burning Three Baptist Churches in St. Landry Parish

New Orleans, Louisiana - Holden Matthews, 22, pleaded guilty Monday in the Western District of Louisiana to intentionally setting fire to three Baptist churches because of the religious character of those buildings.  Specifically, Matthews pleaded guilty to three counts of violating the Church Arson Prevention Act, 18 U.S.C. § 247(a)(1) - one count for each church - as well as one count of using fire to commit a federal felony, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 844(h).
