Somerton, Arizona - On Thursday, November 9th & 16th, the Somerton Library will offer basic e-mail classes at 11:00 a.m. Learn how to set up and use a free e-mail account. This is a one session class; basic mouse skills are required.

Yuma, Arizona - Yesterday, just after 3:00 pm, a brush fire was reported in the area of the 2800 block of Avenue A, west of Smucker Park. Arriving Yuma Fire Department personnel found areas of brush and trees on fire between Smucker Park and the canal.

GCU Men’s Lacrosse begins season as SLC’s preseason favorite

Phoenix, Arizona - he Grand Canyon University Men’s Lacrosse team has been named as the preseason favorite to repeat as the champions of the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference for the 2017-18 season.  The Lopes were chosen #1 in the SLC’s preseason rankings by the conference coaches.  Just behind GCU in the preseason rankings is the team the Lopes beat in last year’s national championship match, Chapman University from the Los Angeles area; as well as Arizona State University, who bowed to the Lopes in the 2017 SLC Championship Game last April.

3rd Annual English Symposium

Yuma, Arizona - Arizona Western College will be holding their 3rd Annual English Symposium on Friday, November 17, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in BA 111. The symposium is co-sponsored by the Center for Teaching Effectiveness and the AWC English Department.
