Phoenix, Arizona - Governor Doug Ducey announced Thursday that the Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family (GOYFF) has been awarded nearly $1 million in federal funding through the U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance to increase and expand mental health support, trauma-informed initiatives and suicide prevention efforts in Arizona schools.

Phoenix, Arizona - Governor Doug Ducey ordered flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset, Tuesday, October 8, 2019, to honor Border Patrol Agent Robert Hotten. On Monday, October 7, 2019, U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported that Agent Hotten died in the line of duty. He was a 10-year veteran of U.S. Border Patrol.

Shinn, who currently serves as the Assistant Director for the Program Review Division of the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Washington, D.C., brings over 30 years of law enforcement executive leadership experience and has served with the Federal Bureau of Prisons since 1991.
