Yuma, Arizona - Arizona Western College has announced two name changes that are effective immediately.   The Main Campus at 24th Street and Avenue 8E will now be called the Yuma Campus; to differentiate it from AWC’s other learning centers in San Luis, Somerton, Parker, Quartzsite and Wellton. Most student services functions are available at these locations, and they are all centers of academics and learning in their respective communities.  Changing to the name the Yuma Campus more accurately reflects the site’s geographical location, and aligns it within that naming protocol.

The other change impacts the location formerly known as the Entrepreneurial Center, which is changing to the Downtown Center.  The role of the center in Yuma on Redondo Drive has shifted over time, and while it still offers space for customized training and professional development, it is also a location for academic classes for AWC and other higher learning partners. The new name also speaks to its proximity to the heart of the City of Yuma – making it a convenient location for the Yuma business district.  This new change is effective immediately; signage will be updated in the next few months.
