Yuma, Arizona - On Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at approximately 3:44 p.m., a Yuma Police Department School Resource Officer received information about an alleged school shooting to occur.  The information came from students at Fourth Avenue Jr. High, located at 450 S. 4th Avenue, stating an unidentified student made threats to shoot up the school tomorrow, which is today’s date.

The suspect was identified as a 13 year old male that attends Fourth Avenue Jr. High.  It was determined the threat was stated, but not legitimate.  Threats and Disorderly Conduct charges will be forwarded to the County Attorney’s Office for review in reference to this case.
