Yuma, Arizona - On Saturday, shortly after 6:30 pm, a fire was reported at Church’s Chicken, 2420 South 4th Avenue. Yuma Fire Department personnel arrived to fire smoke coming from the building and flames visible inside. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire, limiting the damage to the cooking area around the deep fryer.
Fire investigators determined the fire was caused by a buildup of grease ignited by the burners. The restaurant was not able to reopen for business until repairs can be done.
