Yuma, Arizona - The Yuma City Council will consider authorizing an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with Arizona Western College (AWC) for cooperative law enforcement services with the City of Yuma Police Department, during the regular City Council meeting to begin at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7 inside the Council Chambers of City Hall, One City Plaza. This is one of several items on the motion consent agenda this week.
At the start of the City Council meeting, there will be a presentation of the USNS Yuma ship christening ceremony, which took place in Mobile, AL, in mid-August. There will also be a presentation recognizing recent Yuma Fire Department paramedic graduates.
The City Council will consider several additional items on the motion consent agenda, including:
- A liquor license for Omega Restaurant and Bar.
- A special event liquor license for the ASU Halloween Bash, which is to be held at the Yuma Quartermaster Depot in late October.
- Approval of a permanent extension of premises for The Patio Restaurant.
- A cooperative purchase agreement for janitorial and sanitation supplies, equipment and related services.
- A memorandum of understanding and license agreement with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office to share and access law enforcement information and records through a shared program called COPLINK.
- Approval of the final plat for the Park West Unit #3 subdivision property.
- A memorandum of understanding with the Yuma County Sheriff's Office for the 2016 Byrne Justice Assistance Grant Program Award.
- Authorizing the City Administrator to apply for the Arizona Recycling Coalition Grants Program 2016, and to accept the $5,000 grant if awarded.
There is one item on the Resolution Consent Agenda that, if approved, would allow the City Administrator to execute an amendment to the Series 2010 Ground Lease and an amendment to the Series 2010 City Lease.
There are no ordinances scheduled for adoption.
There is one ordinance scheduled for introduction. If later adopted, it would rezone approximately 1.86 acres located near the northeast corner of 10th Street and Arizona Avenue from the agriculture district to the light industrial district.
There are no public hearings scheduled at this time.
