Yuma, Arizona - On Friday, November 03, 2017 at about 6:00 p.m., the Yuma Police Department responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision at 6th Avenue and 1st Street.

Thanksgiving prompts shift in Thursday recycling pickups

Yuma, Arizona - Yuma City Hall will be closed Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24 during Thanksgiving week.

Fire in the 1400 block of West 8th Street

Yuma, Arizona - On Wednesday, just after 10:00 pm, a house was reported to be on fire in the 1400 block of West 8th Street. First arriving Yuma Fire Department personnel found heavy smoke and flames coming from a vacant house at 1403 West 8th Street. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire before it could spread to other nearby structures. During firefighting operations a section of 8th Street was closed to traffic, but it has since reopened.

Thanksgiving DUI 2017

Yuma, Arizona - The City of Yuma Police Department is conducting an impaired driving detail on Wednesday, November 22nd; Thursday, November 23rd; Friday November 24th and Saturday, November 25th, 2017.  Additional officers will be roving city streets looking to stop and arrest drivers who are impaired by alcohol or drugs. These DUI patrols are, in addition to regularly scheduled patrol officers, all looking for signs of an impaired driver behind the wheel.

Yuma, Arizona - This morning, at 12:17 a.m., officers responded to the area of the 1900 block of S 33rd Drive, in reference to a vehicle colliding with a house.
