Phoenix, Arizona - Governor Doug Ducey has issued a proclamation recognizing October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the state of Arizona to raise awareness of the disease, those fighting it, our survivors, and those who have lost their lives to it.

“Too many families have endured the pain and suffering that happens when a loved one is diagnosed with breast cancer,” Governor Doug Ducey said. “When I think of the month of October, I think pink – and the work that has been accomplished, and continues to happen to advance breast cancer research, education, screening, treatment and support for all those women impacted.

“There is still much to be done to reduce breast cancer prevalence in Arizona and across the country. For women in the United States, breast cancer is the second-highest cause of cancer-related deaths. I pray for the families who have lost a loved one to breast cancer, I pray for the recovery for those undergoing treatment, and I pray for the survivors who have endured excruciating circumstances.”
