Washington, DC - Secretary Kerry met Monday with Pakistani Prime Minister Sharif to discuss our strong, long-term bilateral partnership and to build upon the U.S.-Pakistan Strategic Dialogue. The Secretary commended the Prime Minister for restoring macroeconomic stability to Pakistan over the last three years and expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s cooperation on climate change priorities.
State Department Terrorist Designation of Jund al-Aqsa

Washington, DC - The Department of State has designated Jund al-Aqsa (JAA) as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) entity under Executive Order (E.O.) 13224, which imposes sanctions on foreign persons determined to have committed, or pose a significant risk of committing, acts of terrorism that threaten the security of U.S. nationals or the national security, foreign policy, or economy of the United States. As a result of this designation, all property subject to U.S. jurisdiction in which JAA has any interest is blocked and U.S. persons are generally prohibited from engaging in any transactions with JAA.
2704 South 18th Avenue House Fire

Yuma, Arizona - On Sunday at 1:15 am a fire was reported in the area of the 1700 block of west 27th Drive. Yuma Fire Department personnel arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from a home located at 2704 South 18th Avenue. Firefighters protected nearby homes and extinguished the fire.
Church’s Chicken Restaurant Fire

Yuma, Arizona - On Saturday, shortly after 6:30 pm, a fire was reported at Church’s Chicken, 2420 South 4th Avenue. Yuma Fire Department personnel arrived to fire smoke coming from the building and flames visible inside. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire, limiting the damage to the cooking area around the deep fryer.
