Yuma, Arizona - The Yuma Police Department, with help from the Yuma County Fair Inc., is pleased to announce the “Scary & Safe Trick or Treat” at the Yuma County Fairgrounds on Halloween night from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

Washington, DC - The National Science Foundation (NSF) has long been a leader in supporting fundamental research to equip U.S. cities and communities with more responsive and adaptive technologies and services. Today, NSF's Smart & Connected Communities (S&CC) program announces its first round of awards totaling approximately $19.5 million. This funding will support 38 projects involving researchers at 34 institutions across the nation.

Washington, DC - Scientists at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) have developed the first miniature laser in which the light is guided along the floor of an open metallic trench. The laser could act as a nanoscale device to sense minute amounts of pollutants and other chemicals in the environment, or detect the surface binding of biomolecules for medical diagnostics.

Learn how cemetery records may help you in your research, and how to conduct cemetery research. Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet to this workshop. There is no charge to attend.
