The Dangers of Social Media

Yuma, Arizona - On Tuesday, November 14th, retired Yuma County Sheriff’s Office Detective Eric Frost will present “The Dangers of Social Media” at 4:30 p.m. at the Foothills Library. Learn how to keep yourself, your family, your job and your assets secure. Parents will learn what information can make kids easy targets for online predators, and what may cause problems in the future when applying for college or employment.

Children's Festival of the Arts celebrates 25th anniversary

Yuma, Arizona - Known as an annual “must” event for children and their parents for years, the Children’s Festival of the Arts will celebrate its 25th anniversary when it returns 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, November 4, on Yuma’s historic downtown Main Street.

Threatening or Intimidatimg calls to local businesses

Yuma, Arizona - The Yuma Police Department has seen a rise in threatening and intimidating calls to our local businesses.  The calls are coming from a phone number from Mexico and the caller will ask for a Spanish speaker.  The caller threatens to send shooters into the business if money or other specific items are not obtained. 

Practice Sign Language at the Library

AWC Hosts Geospatial Day

Yuma, Arizona - Arizona Western College Science department invites over 70 area junior high school students to participate in Geospatial Day November 2nd. The students will learn about the scientific practices of geospatial technics and studies.
