President Obama’s Bilateral Meeting with President Xi Jinping

Washington, DC - Today, President Barack Obama met with President Xi Jinping of China for a bilateral meeting on the margins of the G20 Leaders Summit in Hangzhou, China.  The two heads of state exchanged views on a range of global, regional, and bilateral subjects.  President Obama and President Xi affirmed their commitment to work together to constructively manage differences and decided to expand and deepen cooperation in the following areas.

State Department Terrorist Designation of Abdiqadir Mumin

Washington, DC - The Department of State has designated Abdiqadir Mumin as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) under Executive Order (E.O.) 13224, which imposes sanctions on foreign persons and groups determined to have committed, or pose a significant risk of committing, acts of terrorism that threaten the security of U.S. nationals or the national security, foreign policy, or economy of the United States. As a result of this designation, all property subject to U.S. jurisdiction in which Mumin has any interest is blocked and U.S. persons are generally prohibited from engaging in any transactions with Mumin.

César Chávez Exhibit

San Luis, Arizona - On Thursday, September 15th, the San Luis Library, 1075 N 6th Avenue, will present “In His Own Words: The Life and Work of César Chávez,” an exhibition produced by Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. The public is invited to a grand opening ceremony and ribbon cutting at 4:00 p.m. “In His Own Words” is made possible by a We the People grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
