Washington, DC - Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Francisco L. Palmieri will travel to San Diego, Los Angeles, and Tijuana, Mexico, on October 30-November 1. He will promote U.S. economic and security objectives with key partners on both sides of the border, including: local government officials, the private sector, higher education institutions, and think tanks.

Tucson, Arizona - Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents from the Three Points station apprehended a Guatemalan national Tuesday morning for illegally entering the United States and later discovered he was convicted for assault and sexual assault in Connecticut.

Washington, DC - Thursday, President Donald J. Trump took action to ensure release of the remaining President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records. Accordingly, the National Archives and Records Administration will make approximately 2,800 records available in full for public access.

Washington, DC - Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that the Department of Justice has entered into settlements, pending approval by the district courts, in two cases brought by groups whose tax-exempt status was significantly delayed by the Internal Revenue Service based on inappropriate criteria. The first case, Linchpins of Liberty v. United States, comprised claims brought by 41 plaintiffs, and the second case, NorCal Tea Party Patriots v. Internal Revenue Service, was a class action suit that included 428 members.  Attorney General Sessions released the following statement about the cases:
