Yuma, Arizona - On Saturday, November 5th, Melissa Wyatt, Yuma County Family, Consumer, and Health Sciences Agent for the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension, will present “Drying Herbs” at 10:00 a.m. at the Main Library. Learn about the benefits of food dehydration, and how to dehydrate and store herbs.

Yuma, Arizona - Teens and adults are invited to the Heritage Library on Saturday, November 5th, for Book vs. Movie Club. Each month, the group reads a selected title, then meets at the Heritage Library to watch the film and discuss the differences and similarities. There is no charge to attend.

Yuma, Arizona - Arizona Western College’s Advising Weeks are coming up on October 24th through November 10th.  AWC is encouraging all students, who are planning on registering for the Spring 2017 semester, to schedule an appointment early during the Advising Weeks.  Seeing an advisor early means a student will be prepared when Spring 2017 registration opens up and will be able to get the classes they need.  Also, if students wait to see their advisor when registration opens up, there may not be an opening and enough time for them to speak and see their advisor.

Mobile Home Fire 3600 block of South 4th Avenue

Yuma, Arizona - Yesterday, at about 3:30 pm a fire was reported in a mobile home park in the 3600 block of South 4th Avenue. Arriving Yuma Fire Department personnel found smoke coming from the rear of a double wide mobile home at 337 West Teton Drive. A propane grill had caught fire and flames from the tank had spread into the exterior wall and attic space of the dwelling. Firefighters quickly knocked down and extinguished the fire before it extended into the living spaces.

Tempe, Arizona - Sun Devil Football returns home to celebrate its annual Homecoming Weekend with the game taking place Saturday, October 22 at Sun Devil Stadium. The contest is slated for a 7 p.m. start in Arizona and will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Networks with Roxy Bernstein on the call alongside Anthony Herron and Lewis Johnson. 

AWC Community Band Presents their Fall Concert

Yuma, Arizona - The Arizona Western College Community Band will be having their Fall Concert on Monday, October 24.  The concert will take place at Mary Elizabeth Post Auditorium at 7:00pm.  Donations will be accepted.
