FedEx van strikes female bicyclist 2500 block S. 4th Avenue

Yuma, Arizona - On Tuesday, at approximately 6:20 p.m., a FedEx van was waiting to pull out northbound from AutoZone parking lot in the 2500 block S. 4th Avenue.  As the driver started his turn to merge into the curb lane he struck a female bicyclist riding against traffic on the sidewalk.

Residential Fire 1700 block of South 29th Drive

Yuma, Arizona - On Tuesday, shortly before 10:30 am, a fire was reported in the 1700 block of South 29th Drive. Arriving firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the eaves of 1788 S. 29th Drive. An interior fire attack was started, but firefighters were met with heavy flames and very low visibility inside.  A partial roof collapse occurred during firefighting operations, but there were no injuries.
