Yuma, Arizona - The Yuma City Council will consider authorizing several grant agreements during its regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, inside the Council Chambers of City Hall, One City Plaza.

There are several items on the motion consent agenda, including: 

  • A special event liquor license for Fort Yuma Rotary Club's "Mardi Gras on Main" event.
  • Authorizing the purchase of a 2017 Transit Van and Closed Circuit Television Mobile System.
  • Declaring surplus and award of firearms.
  • Rejecting all proposals received for professional title and escrow services.
  • Authorizing the City Administrator to execute an agreement with the Arizona Department of Homeland Security for reimbursement of funds expended for overtime and mileage for activities in support of Operation Stonegarden.
  • Authorizing the grant agreement with the Arizona Department of Homeland Security for reimbursement of funds expended for materials, labor and travel as it relates to the Critical Infrastructure Upgrade - YRCS Interoperability Radio Console/Gateway Phase II.
  • Authorize the City Administrator to negotiate the sale of property at 4 ½  E and 36th Street.

There is one item on the resolution consent agenda, which would authorize the City Administrator to execute a Facilities Maintenance Agreement (sublicense) permitting a residential contractor and future property owners of record to use Yuma County Water Users' Association property, under a license granted to the City of Yuma, and to record the said agreement against the two properties of record.

There are two ordinances scheduled for adoption:

  • Declaring approximately 17 acres of City-owned real property as surplus, and authorizing the sale of the surplus property through a request for proposal/request for offer competitive process. 
  • Declaring a parcel of real property surplus and authorizing the sale of all or part of the surplus property.

There is one ordinance scheduled for introduction:

  • If introduced and later adopted, the ordinance would create or reserve separate utilities and shared access easements, declare described right-of-way and portion of an alley surplus for City use, authorize the vacating of the surplus right-of-way and portion of an alley to the adjacent property owner through the recording of a deed and payment to the City of the purchase price, and in the alternative, vacate the right-of-way and alley to the City and authorize the sale of the surplus right-of-way and alley with the sale of the adjacent parcel. 

There are no public hearings scheduled at this time. There are two reappointments scheduled for Municipal Court Judge Pro Tem.
