Yuma, Arizona - The City of Yuma Police Department conducted impaired driving details during the nights of Friday July 1st, Saturday July 2nd, Sunday July 3rd and Monday July 4th of 2016 with help from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.  The focus was impaired driving and the apprehension of impaired drivers.

During this detail we had 23 extra officers working and they conducted 231 traffic stops which resulted in:

6 total DUI arrests, 2 of them were DUI drugs, 1 was for extreme DUI and 2 had prior DUI arrests.  22 of the contacts were with sober drivers.

84 Speeding citations issued, 6 of them were for criminal speed.

6  Seatbelt violations.

91 violations cited for other than speeding.

The average BAC was 0.150.
