Yuma, Arizona - The City of Yuma Police Department conducted an impaired driving detail on Wednesday, November 22nd; Thursday, November 23rd; Friday November 24th and Saturday, November 25th, 2017 with help from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The focus was impaired driving and the apprehension of impaired drivers.
During this detail we had 11 extra officers working and they conducted 66 traffic stops which resulted in:
- 5 total DUI Arrests, 3 for Misdemeanor DUI and 2 for DUI drugs
- 12 - Sober designated drivers contacted
- 26 - Speeding citations issued 2 of them for Criminal Speed
- 35 - Violations cited for other than speeding.
- 1 – Other arrests.
