Mother Nature doesn’t always consult with the National Weather Service

Yuma, Arizona - According to the National Weather Service, Monsoon season officially ended September 30th. But we know that Mother Nature doesn’t always consult with the NWS, and there is some storm activity predicted again for our area. So, just in case, here are a few reminders:

Cooking Fires

Yuma, Arizona - U.S. Fire Departments responded to an estimated annual average of 156,600 cooking-related fires between 2007-2011, resulting in 400 civilian deaths, 5,080 civilian injuries and $853 million in direct damage.

Small Business Tax Seminar

Yuma, Arizona - The Yuma County Library District, in collaboration with the Internal Revenue Service, is hosting a Small Business Tax Seminar for entrepreneurs, startups, business owners, and anyone interested in the financial aspect of running a business. IRS publications and forms will be provided.

Yuma, Arizona - On Saturday, October 27th, the Genealogical Society of Yuma will present “Cemeteries: Real and Virtual” at 10:30 a.m. at the Main Library. Betsy Gottsponer, Linda Harris, and Judith Marcum will share tips on how to find the graves of your ancestors.

Yuma, Arizona - The Yuma Police Department is notifying the community that Dwight Arthur Raley, 65 is now residing at 2156 S. Javelina Avenue Yuma, Arizona 85364.  He is described as 5 feet, 11 inches tall, 175 pounds, with Gray hair and brown eyes.
