Yuma, Arizona - Arizona Western College will be holding their 2nd Annual English Symposium on Friday, November 18 from 9am to 12pm in BA 111. The symposium is co-sponsored by the Center for Teaching Effectiveness (CTE) and the AWC English Faculty.
The purpose of the symposium is to present papers and facilitate discussions on issues related to English pedagogies. This will be an opportunity for participants to hone in on their own composition skills and share ideas. Participants may discuss any interest broadly within the topic, including controversial issues, in a spirit of candor and collegiality.
Topics and presenters for the event include:

- Will America Ever Heal Its Racial Wounds? by Mizaba Abedi
- Monster Culture Pedagogy: Why Teach Monsters in ENG 102? by Hollie Villanueva
- Deviancy, Interpretist Theory, and Post Modernism in the English Classroom by David Hannah
- Something Moved! Language Invention in the Classroom by Ed Schubert
