Governor Brewer Announces Appointment of Superior Court Clerk in Pima County

Phoenix, Arizona - Governor Jan Brewer appointed Toni Hellon to serve as the Clerk of the Superior Court for Pima County.

"Toni’s extensive public service and knowledge of the job make her a natural fit for this role," said Governor Brewer. "Having served for several years as Chief Deputy Clerk for Pima County, I’m confident this transition will be a smooth one and that she will serve the residents of Pima County well."

Ms. Hellon has served for six years as Chief Deputy Clerk for Pima County. Earlier, she was Executive Assistant to Pima County Supervisor Mike Boyd (1998-2000), and Chief Deputy Recorder for Pima County (1989-1992). Ms. Hellon is an ongoing member of the Governor’s Advisory Board for the Arizona Film Commission, and served as a member of the University of Arizona Presidential Search Committee (2005-06) and Pima County Trial Court Commission (1992-2000), among other community organizations.

Additionally, Ms. Hellon has several years of experience in state government. She was elected to the Arizona State Senate in 2000, 2002 and 2004.

Ms. Hellon earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Arizona (1985). Her appointment was made to fill the vacancy caused by the retirement of Patricia A. Noland, which is effective March 31, 2013.
