Phoenix, Arizona - Attorney General Mark Brnovich in partnership with the Phoenix Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation announce the indictment of Steffan Burris and Jennifer Burris for their alleged involvement in a financial investment fraud scheme.

A State Grand Jury indicted Steffan Burris on multiple counts of fraud and theft.  From 2011 to July 2016, Steffan Burris allegedly obtained money from multiple victims by pretending he had access to hundreds of millions of dollars.  The total victim losses exceed $650,000.00.  Steffan Burris would allegedly tell victims he made a fortune in real estate investing or that he had access to huge sums of money from an inheritance.  He would allegedly solicit the victims to join in fictitious business ventures.  Jennifer Burris was charged with one count of theft after she allegedly signed documents and met with victims during some solicitations for investments. 
 
Special Agents with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office and the FBI arrested both Steffan Burris and Jennifer Burris at their home on July 28, 2016.  Steffan Burris is currently being held in jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond. Steffan Burris is charged with one count of Fraudulent Schemes and Artifices and five counts of Theft, all Class 2 felonies.  Jennifer Burris is charged with one count of Theft, a class 2 felony. Their next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday, August 16, 2016.
